An application fee waiver is a form (waiver) that allows you to submit your college applications without paying a fee. You must qualify in order to be eligible for a fee waiver. For more details on if you qualify, see here.
When using Scoir to discover colleges and plan your application strategy, there are several ways to request a fee waiver, listed and detailed below.

On your Scoir dashboard, you can see if you qualify for free apps with Scoir by clicking the Find Out button.
Once completed, if you are eligible, the Dashboard and Discovery page will then house a path to browse schools the student can apply for free with Scoir. You will be able to see this in the Free Apps with Scoir tile.
While you are not technically requesting a fee waiver directly on your Scoir application, you are required to answer questions in the Application Profile that determines your fee waiver eligibility.
Determining your fee waiver eligibility is done by completing the Fee Waiver section of your Application Profile. Answering “Yes” to any of the fee waiver questions makes you fee waiver eligible for any of the colleges you apply to with Scoir.

Additionally, veterans and active members of the U.S. Armed Forces may be eligible for Coalition’s Fee Waiver by selecting criteria in that section of your Application Profile .
If you are eligible for a of fee waiver (provided by Coalition for College), Scoir will make it easy for you to identify where you can apply for free when you are searching colleges in Scoir! It will be shown on the college profile, example below:
This option is only available to students connected to a high schools in Scoir that has Send Documents enabled.

In addition to the fee waivers listed above, some schools may provide their own institution-specific fee waivers. Check with a school’s admission office to understand what you’ll need to submit to obtain a fee waiver. And remember, some schools may not charge an application fee at all.
